Celebrating the history of our hometown and these tremendous women who paved the way for so many others, GIRLS OF SUMMER tells the story of a fictitious version of the Rockford Peaches first team in 1943.
From the league’s inception by Philip Wrigley to the tryout at Wrigley Field to the girls becoming Peaches in the first ever Professional Girls Baseball League, this musical celebrates the challenges and triumphs of these inspiring women who not only carved a brand new path but who became family in the process.
The Studio is thrilled to present this musical for the first time anywhere, and to honor the hard work, talent and dedication of every member of the Rockford Peaches and All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
